‘The Sex Life of a Lagos Mad Woman’, the long-awaited sophomore collection of short stories by author and short-story writer, ‘Seun Salami contains twelve fiction stories largely about the sex lives of characters like a celibate priest, a ritualist’s apprentice, a born-again Pentecostal sister, a popular charismatic pastor, a lesbian on the prowl and others whose diverse sexual experiences the author so vividly portrays with his trademark simple yet suspense-filled prose style.
I’m not a huge fan of short story collections because you most likely won’t like every story in the book and you might actually totally hate some.
The Sex Life of a Lagos Mad Woman is a collection of 12 short stories. My favourites are The Sex Life of a Lagos Mad Woman, Aminu-Suya, Our Pastor is Hooked on Porn and Me and The Young Witch of Ifewara
I laughed out loud while reading most of the stories. Especially Breadwinners and The Lump In My Celibate Throat
Witch Hunting Nights, The Merchant’s Dungeon and Our New Neighbour’s Wife were sad stories.
The stories are well written and you find yourself deeply interested in the characters and wanting more.
This is a collection of well written, interesting stories. I enjoyed all the stories and I read it all in under 2 hours
This is an enjoyable anthology. Interesting short stories that keep you engaged. I couldn’t drop the book until I finished it
