Putting God First

There are two things that have been on my mind for a while now.
They are very short and simple

#1
A lot of times, when we face situations – good or bad – we don’t turn to God. At least not first. We’ll first bitch about our problems, or talk about our celebrations to people.

I’m very guilty of this. Whenever anything happens to me, the first 2 people that hear about it are Gbemisoke and Ibukun. Then God.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t have people to confide in but God should be number one.

A lot of us only turn/pray to God on two occasions. The first is when bad things happen. When nothing seems to be going right. That’s when you’ll see us. Going to church. Going to pastor. Going for vigils. Staying up all night to pray. The second is when good things are happening. We were promoted at work. We passed an exam etc etc. We will tell everybody about our testimony. Do thanksgiving ceremony. Tell our pastors. Tell everybody we can think of.

But what of the times in between bad and good times. When things aren’t hot or cold. When things are just lukewarm. We wouldn’t always be up and down. There’ll be plateaus. What do we do in our (spiritual) plateaus. We have to hold on to God every time.
Pray without ceasing. Pray in all seasons. Pray. Pray. Pray. Every time. Every season. Every day. Without stopping.

Grace and Peace

  1. You are so right we don’t always go to God first we go to everyone except Him. We come to Him after we have tried everything else on our own then when we see what we done has not worked now we are ready to let God do it. We should feel bad about how we treat God for it’s not right..All I have to say we better thank God for Grace…
